Our Senior patients at Miller-Clark are very special to us. After nurturing them through their younger years, we now want to see them enjoying their senior years just as much. Taking care of them requires us to consider how are patients change as they age. These changes are what prompted us to start our "senior wellness" program. The age of 7 is uniformly recognized as the start of their senior years for most animals.
There are certain changes and behaviors that we recognize in senior patients that are indicative of certain problems. Please take a moment to fill out this checklist, to see if your pet has any of these symptoms. Please print out the results and bring them with you when you come in for your pets next examination.
At each pets annual examination, our technicians and doctors will speak to you about senior care. This ranges in topice from diet, arthritis care, changing vaccine ptotocols, and running bloodwork. Since no 2 pets are alike, our recommendations are customized to your pets condition and like stage.
The most important aspect of senior care is regular check ups. There is no replacement for a high quality exam by one of our doctors. Then, the doctors and staff will implement a plan that may include bloodwork, x-rays, EKG's, or a urinalysis.
Please help us to help your pet live a long, happy, and healthy life.
